New Zealand Holidays Blog updated

Well I have been rather quiet here. Mainy because I have been very busy adding more interesting pages to http://www.holidays-in-newzealand.com Rationalising time is one of the biggest balancing acts when building a website. The amount of off site work is almost equal to on site!

There are now many new pages on Holidays in New Zealand including accommodation, both Hostels and Hotels, More Products of New Zealand with a great range of gorgeous merino/possum knitwear, Motor home hire, and a page I am hoping many will use adding their story of their adventure activities spills and thrills while on holiday in New Zealand.

A range of pages on Northland is also a new addition, with plenty of information and an itinerary for a comprehensive tour .

Fascinating Travel Destinations

My http:/www.fascinating-travel-destinations.com site is very young. But I am moving along well, and have done a lot of work with several pages on Japan and Cuba. I am keen to provide people with information and inspiration, but also the ability to make bookings, in time. I was thrilled to find I can provide a booking facility for Casa Particulares in Cuba. It is so hard to find a lot of this information , that that will be great.

I am also providing some language downloads for lessons and a basic dictionary which should assist people as they travel through a country where they don't know the language. Being able to show you have at least tried a little is always well received. I have the Learning Japanese page up, and the Learning Spanish page will be up in the next day or two

More on this tomorrow.

Holidays in New Zealand Website

I have been working on both my sites pretty consistently, and have put several new pages up including Accommodation. People can now look at and book both a full range of hotels, and hostels which includes backpackers, hostels, apartments, holiday homes, and camping grounds. The full range of cheaper accommodation. They can also compare all the hotels and their prices so they have the ability to book, knowing they are getting the best price regardless of where it is. I am really thrilled with being able to offer this for people. I hope people use it.

The plan is they can book absolutely everything they need in the way of flights, accommodation, rental cars and campervans, Travel Insurance and all they need for their Holidays in New Zealand - at one place.

I have spent quite a bit of time researching to ensure I am choosing the best option for people.
I will write more on other possible bookings.

Getting affiliate programmes set up

I have had a busy couple of days setting up affiliate programmes on http://www.holidays-in-newzealand.com The programmes have all supplied me with plenty of excellent guidance, instruction and html to make the job easier. World Nomads is a great Travel Insurance scheme which covers so many different situations. But the extras in the way of language programmes, stories etc are all going to be particularly beneficial with my other site.

Products of New Zealand is another programme that is excellent, and has wonderful support and products that fit very well into my site. Now I have to work to get them

With the end of July I am almost at the target I had set, just need to get more visitors and I would be very happy. But it is all growing nicely. I am doing articles for 3 or 4 article directories and I hope to reap the benefits from that soon.

http://www.fascinating-travel-destinations.com - I have done the home page and was very happy to have managed to put some graphics on the home page.

Winter Weather is meaning some Roads are Closed.

After some really bad winter weather, where we were hit with the full force of a cyclone, we were without power for most of Saturday. Fortunately we were reconnected late on Saturday night, but others are still waiting with huge numbers needing assistance. We are due some more bad weather tomorrow it seems.

For those travellers driving in the central North Island, they may well find the Desert Rd has been closed . They certainly need to check, as it has been closed frequently with the snow and bad weather recently. The South Island will also have many of the Passes closed or they will need chains if they are driving in these areas. So people should be checking the weather forecast regularly. It has certainly been a colder than normal winter generally.

Birth of my Second website

Today saw the birth of my second website. I am probably not really ready to divert my attention from http://www.holidays in newzealand.com so the new travel site fascinating-travel-destinations.com will be a little slower getting off the ground. But it is an exciting day. I have also chosen and built my Look and Feel. I am very happy with the end result. Site Build It certainly makes it easy to concentrate on the main task at hand - building your website.

It has been an excellent time to re read everything and pick up on little things I have missed for my first site. So I can work in tandem in some areas. I will certainly have a much better idea of what I am doing! Choosing the domain is actually a very important and time consuming task. Not to mention thought provoking! I have gone for a longer domain than I would have liked, but it is perfect, as it has 2 good keywords and describes my new site perfectly. I have been mulling it over for a week or so, and my husband definitely felt it conveyed the site meaning best.

Busy Day Getting the Traffic Going

I have had a very busy day, my main objective being to increase my traffic quite considerably over the next month!

I put a new page on my website http://www.holidays-in-newzealand.com/auckland-airport.html
So many people need information on how to get there, and what they will find .

I also submitted an article on Water Safety in New Zealand to two article distribution sites. With so many water based activities, New Zealander's are always very aware of the need for safety procedures. Unfortunately we have many tourists who do not have the same experience with water, and many of our drownings involve visitors. Hopefully an awareness of how to look for safe places to swim, and some basic safety techniques will help people who are inexperienced around water.

I have also been brainstorming madly on my new website. Another day and I should be 100% sure of my domain. I am looking forward to that, although it will mean more work. However, I am hoping I will pick up on things I may have missed as i re read the Days for Site Builit. I am also hoping by working the to sites in tandem I can get the second one up and running quickly.

Time to get to work again

Well I had to work off site today. While I had access to the computer I was in an office so decided to do some research and start the home page for my new site. I am still in the process of fully deciding my domain name. I think I am almost there. It did mean I had time to read thoroughly the many posts on choosing domains , which has cleared my mind a bit.Hyphens or not, long or short, choose a domain where someone has the version with no hyphens? These are all considerations.

However, I was somewhat surprised with one of the articles Ken from Site BuildIt suggested we read. I feel I am going to have to redo my About Me page. I had certainly misunderstood the reason for this page and what was required. It is in fact only about me in relation to being about you. So there you are. The saying "It is all about me"" is not correct! At least in writing an About Me page!

I really want to build up my traffic. So to work I must go writing more articles to send out.The end of July is my deadline for some things i have yet to do. A busy week is ahead.

I have decided to add more notes to my http://www.holidays-in-newzealand.com blog than just the pages I write. There are so many interesting activities happening in New Zealand, I plan to notify my readers via the blog, so they can plan to do some of the short term events on offer. At the moment the 40th Auckland International Film Festival is on until 27th July. So if you enjoy films you can choose from a selection of the best from around the world, and New Zealand made movies for some entertainment while you are in Auckland.

Latest Pages on my Holidays in New Zealand Website

I have been a little preoccupied with getting a second website up and running this week. But I was pleased to see I had best answer for a question about Spookers, which is an Auckland Haunted Hospital experience for those who like an adrenaline rush of the scary sort! I did a page for my website on Spookers as it is quite an unusual entertainment and very popular. As there are buses out there, tourists might like to go and have some frighteningly good fun. If you want to read more have a look at http://www.holidays-in-newzealand.com/spookers.html There is a good video to set the mood.

The other page I did was about the South Island's West Coast. This is such a beautiful part of New Zealand with so much to do and see. The Franz Joseph and Fox glaciers are probably the highlights. If you want to see more videos on the South island my page on New Zealand scenery2 has some wonderful views of this really spectacular coastline. There are not many places you see the snow capped mountains while lying on the beach or even swimming in the sea - if you don't feel the cold!

Holidays in New Zealand

I have been working on my site http://www.holidays-in-newzealand since Christmas Eve 2007. It has been an exciting experience, and I have found it rather addictive. Sharing my knowledge of my very beautiful country has been such an enjoyable experience.

Having lived in several parts of the country, and travelled extensively throughout, we still find plenty of new, interesting things to see and do. The lovely thing about New Zealand is, it really does have something for everyone. You may be into the adrenaline rush adventure activities, such as bungee jumping, white water rafting, or jet boating. Or prefer more cultural activities visiting museums, historic places, experiencing Maori culture, or art galleries. Perhaps your outdoor interests are more about enjoying beach activities, bush walks and hiking, or getting into the mountains.

It is all here, enhanced by the stunning scenery , delicious food, and great wine. What more could anyone want?
